This week's Thematic Photographic topic is quiet. Many images come to mind, but tonight I am posting some photos of the "quiet" I awoke to this morning. Yesterday's drizzle turned to ice and by this morning the trees, bushes, fences, and roads were encased in ice. With not a puff of wind there was no crackling, no snapping, and not even a popping of the ice. It was so quiet and so beautiful. So enough with the words.... here are some photos --- Ok, lots of photos!
Ice is nothing but frozen water, which in any form can be so beautiful and, in this case, quiet. Show us your quiet .........

Love the third and sixth photos (from the top)!!! Linda... these look like you had fun out in the chill!!!
Hope you got my Christmas card... and I wish you a very Merry Christmas!!!
Hi Barb:
These pictures are "out of this world" - how gorgeous - ice storms are not nice but you have certainly captured "the beauty of an ice storm". Well done!
I have sent you 4 e-mails and I received yours last night and replied to it - for some reason they are not getting through - I will try my "hotmail" address and see if that works.
Beautiful ice photos! It does look quiet, but I can imagine the snapping of branches too! A friend experienced quite a bit of damage from the ice last week - I referred to it as a "violent beauty."
I believe Heidi's idea of "restless quiet" applies to your photos. There is always a tension when ice is on everything, a quiet cracking that seems foreboding.
I used the wintery scene in my definition, too.
It is a quiet you can "see"
these are gorgeous!!!!!
i love how the frost looks like lace. ice/snow always remind me of quiet. great job.
