Thematic Photographic 14 - Faded

FADED PHOTOGRAPHS

Week 14 of Carmi's Thematic Photographic is underway! I haven't missed a week yet and this week's theme is just too interesting to pass up. So, in between posts about our amazing cruise on the USS Eisenhower I'm going to have some fun coming up with "faded" themes.

It's no secret that I love photography. What many don't know about me is that I love old photographs. In our family there are boxes and boxes of them. I have also taken to collecting interesting old photos that I find in antique shops. Some of my greeting cards even have old photos as the focal point. So, for this TP of "faded" here is an impromptu collage of faded photographs. Some are from my family and the rest are treasures found in antique shops.

If you haven't joined in the Thematic Photographic you are missing a lot of fun. Click on the link for the rules and be sure to browse the comments to go to some amazing blogs.

I was thinking on doing this too Barb. Aren't these old photos just priceless, I love them. The old black & whites... wow, you can tell they're old too by the hairstyles and clothes.... oh, and the sepia, another sign of the times.

Super entry Barb, I really enjoyed these.

Thank you for this, Barb. You've inspired me to do something similar with my parents' and in-laws' photos - which still sit, gathering dust, in boxes and boxes in their cupboards.

I love the tone of this collage. I wish I could dive deeper into each picture, to learn its story.

I thought about doing something along these lines too (we probably all did) It's interesting to look at those photos -- maybe of people you never even knew -- and notice a nose, or a chin or some other feature that runs in the family.

I love all photos! Especially the dresses babies were always in for photos.

This is a fun photo. I agree with Carmi and wish I could delve into each photo and find out more.

I have never done much with old photos, but appreciate them when I see them. My favorite part in the newspaper (besdides the comics!) is the social section. I love seeing anniversaries printed with the old wedding photos!

Thank you so much, by the way, for your comment over at Heidi's Moments. It is a delight to connect with you through our blogs... it really is!
