Thematic Photographic 3 --- Glass

This week's Thematic Photographic offered a multitude of possibilities - glass. Glass is something common to every home - virtually every room. Add light and angles and it takes on a life of its own.
I love crystal goblets and have several from over 75 years old to early 21st century. The most fragile are in a curio cabinet. The pink-tinted goblets that match our china set hang upside-down from a rack in the dining room hutch. From the open end of the hutch I was able to take a shot with interesting depth of field, sparkle and a trace of color.
Thank you, Carmi, for another fun challenge!

I love that kind of shot. Very tight, closeup that maybe leaves a little of the subject out. god is in the details, that kind of thing.

Very nice work!

It is I who must thank you, Barb, for sharing this photo and your thoughts on glass. I'm giving my weekly themes a lot of thought precisely because I want them to be relatable. You took the ball and ran with it this week, and I appreciate your insight more than words can say.

The richness of this photo - visually and historically - is just lovely. It blows me away that so much history can be fused within a gracefully simple piece of glass.

You're absolutely right... sparkle, trace of colour... a depth of field that draws the eye in... Nice contribution.

Neat picture Barb. It is so neat to find someone so close who is blogging too!

It will be fun sharing some Ozark stories between the two of us.

Have you heard of the local camera club. You can check the web site on my blog.

Will yak more later...

Hey Barb. Wanted to thank you for that link to Fox's piece on glass. That was a beyond-cool read! Somewhat coincidentally, I wrote this somewhat irreverent perspective on Wonder Woman's invisible plane years ago:
